Iran targets US-owned petrochemical companies in the region

In the 99th wave of attacks, Iran targeted U.S. bases in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, as well as military points and command-and-control centers in Israel, Fars news agency reports, citing the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

It was stated that the attacks were carried out in response to strikes on Iran’s petrochemical facilities in Asaluyeh.

Ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as attack drones, were used in the operation.

According to the information, at the initial stage, the largest petrochemical complex located in the Al-Jubail region of Saudi Arabia, owned by U.S. companies “Sadra”, “Exon Mobile” and “Dow Chemical”, as well as a major petrochemical complex located in the Al-Jubail  region belonging to the U.S. company “Chevron Phillips”, were targeted with medium-range missiles and several kamikaze drones.

A container ship intended to transport military equipment to Israel via the UAE’s Port of Khorfakkan was also struck with missiles.

In addition, the U.S. aircraft carrier strike group “CVN-72” was targeted with long-range naval cruise missiles in a position deep in the Indian Ocean.
