The resumption of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections will only be possible after the regulator officially declares that it has ensured the safety of Iran's nuclear facilities and scientists, said Vahid Ahmadi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis (Parliament) of Iran, APA reports.
"According to the rules of the International Atomic Energy Agency, all nuclear centers belonging to countries party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons must be protected and cannot be attacked," the parliamentarian emphasized in an interview with the SNN television channel .
The deputy noted that cooperation with the international regulator has been completely frozen. "All cooperation with the IAEA has ceased. This suspension includes both inspections and other forms of interaction," he clarified.
According to the Iranian lawmaker, Tehran will return to joint work only if a clear requirement is met. "Resumption of inspections and cooperation with the agency will only be possible when the IAEA officially declares that the necessary conditions for the safety of Iran's nuclear facilities and nuclear scientists have been ensured," Ahmadi concluded.
