A 6.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Indonesia on Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), APA reports citing Teletrader.
The epicenter was 65 kilometers south-south-east of the city of Gorontalo, home to around 1.2 million people, according to 2019 data. The tremor struck the region at a depth of 147.1 kilometers and it remains unknown as of yet whether it resulted in any casualties.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported the same earthquake at a magnitude of 6.0.
