Clearing the PKK terrorist organization from Syria is primarily the job of the new Syrian government, and if this problem is resolved, there will be no need for Turkish intervention, Turkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview with Qatar's Al Jazeera TV channel, answering a question about allegations that Turkey will conduct a military operation in Syria, APA reports.
Mr Fidan stressed that the new administration must take full control of Syria.
He also stated that the YPG, the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist organization, poses a serious threat to Turkey and that the YPG is trying to maintain its presence and dominance in the areas it occupies.
