Turkish Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar had a phone conversation with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, said the Turkish Ministry of Defense, APA reports.
During the conversation Russia- Ukraine war has been discussed.
Minister Hulusi Akar stressed the importance of an immediate ceasefire and the safe evacuation of civilians, especially from Mariupol, to help end the war with a diplomatic solution.
He emphasized that Turkey, which seeks to provide all possible assistance to humanitarian aid, will continue to do its utmost to ensure peace in the region.
