On January 19, Armenia extradited two members of an organized crime group to Türkiye, APA's Turkey correspondent cited the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
It was noted that Interpol wanted these individuals with a red notice: " Türkiye highly appreciates Armenia's cooperation in this matter."
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared information about their identities on his X account regarding the issue.
According to the information, Türkiye has internationally wanted Ercan Yılmaz for 15 years with a 43-year arrest warrant and by Interpol for 14 years in the red category. He is considered the leader of a criminal gang linked to the "Peace Boyun" criminal group.
The other person extradited is İbrahim Kaymak, a member of a criminal gang whose Türkiye has been internationally wanted for 6 years with 10 arrest warrants and by Interpol for 1 year in the red category.
It was noted that the arrest of the individuals in Armenia was carried out as a result of the joint activities of the Turkish Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Interpol-Europol Office, the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department, the Intelligence Department, and the Ordu Provincial Police Department. Ali Yerlikaya thanked the Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia Tigran Dadunts for their cooperation with the Turkish side.
