Passage through the Strait of Hormuz depends on the implementation of the ceasefire conditions in Lebanon, an anonymous Iranian source told the Fars News Agency, APA reports.
According to the source, under the ceasefire plan proposed with Pakistan’s mediation, Iran had initially agreed to allow a certain number of vessels to pass during the day. However, after the ceasefire agreement was not extended to Lebanon, Iran suspended the agreement on the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
The source added that Iran has put forward conditions for ship passage. Thus, vessels must be commercial in nature, not related to “enemy countries,” move along routes determined by Iran, and operate in coordination with Iranian military forces.
He emphasized that this issue depends on the implementation of the ceasefire conditions in Lebanon, and if the maritime blockade continues, it will be considered a violation of the ceasefire, which could ultimately lead to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
