Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the reason for holding the presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14, APA's Istanbul bureau reports.
During his address to the people after the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Erdogan said that the normal date for elections in Türkiye is June 18.
But that date coincides with Eid al-Adha.
He noted that that is why the most suitable date is May 14.
