Six killed in attacks in Iraq

Baku-APA. Six people were killed and five wounded in separate bomb and gunfire attacks in northern and central Iraq on Tuesday, the police said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
In Iraq’s northern province of Kirkuk, gunmen shot dead the district administrator and a passer-by in the town of Daqoq, just south of the provincial capital city of Kirkuk, some 250 km north of Baghdad, a provincial police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
In a separate incident, a farmer was killed when a magnetic bomb detonated in his car in a rural area north of Kirkuk, the source added.
Also in the province, a street cleaner was killed and two seriously wounded in the morning, when a bomb detonated while they were trying to empty a garbage bin in al-Abbasi area, some 65 km southwest of Kirkuk, the source said.
Elsewhere, a soldier was killed by sniper shot at an army checkpoint in the industrial district in central the city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of Baghdad, a local police source anonymously told Xinhua.
In the early hours of the day, a gunman was killed and three soldiers wounded during a raid by an Iraqi army force on a suspected insurgents’ hideout in the same industrial district of Fallujah, the source said.
Violence and sporadic high profile attacks are still common in the Iraqi cities despite the dramatic decrease of violence over the past few years.
