Student who stabbed teacher to death in Ä°zmir arrested

Baku-APA. An eighth-grade student who stabbed his teacher to death on Wednesday in the province of Ä°zmir after she requested he obtain a tardy slip was arrested on Thursday, APA reports quoting Today’s Zaman.

Fourteen-year-old H.K., a student attending Nezire Marzeci Middle School, who was detained by the police and taken to the Ä°zmir Police Department on Wednesday, was officially placed under arrest by the court on Thursday.

H.K. reportedly arrived late to class on Tuesday, and science and technology teacher Sevilay Ä°lkgÃ¼l Durukan, 40, asked him get a tardy slip. H.K. obtained the slip and slammed it down on the teacher’s desk.

On Wednesday, the student came to class with a knife and stabbed Durukan, who was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital. The teacher later died in hospital.
