PKK rebels kidnap 2 teachers in southeastern Turkey

Baku-APA. A group of rebels from the outlawed Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) kidnapped two teachers in southeastern Turkey on Saturday, APA reports citing private Dogan news agency.
The PKK rebels blocked a road in Senyayla village of Kulp town of Diyarbakir province and stopped a car coming from neighboring Mus province, said the report, adding that they kidnapped the two male teachers with the threat of weapons.

Meanwhile, the Turkish security forces killed one PKK member in a clash in Ortacak Region in Bingol province of eastern Turkey late Friday night after one village guard was killed and two Turkish soldiers wounded in the province, said a statement released by Bingol Governor’s Office on Saturday.
A total of 330 PKK militants were killed in 974 military operations from February to August this year, according to a statement issued by the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, took up arms in 1984 in an attempt to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey.
