Baku-APA. An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan early Saturday at 04:26:36 a.m. local time, the U.S. Geological Survey reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

No tsunami warnings was released and no damage or casualties were reported as for now.

The epicenter, with a depth of 36.3 kilometers, was initially determined to be at 40.2040 degrees north latitude and 143.1500 degrees east longitude.

The quake hit about 108 kilometers southeast of Hachinohe, in Honshu, Japan, and about 574 kilometers northeast of Tokyo, according to the USGS.
