Israeli occupation in Gaza and West Bank illegal: Turkish FM

Baku-APA. Israeli occupation in Gaza and the West Bank was illegal and such an occupation was strengthened by an illegal blockade of Gaza, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said here Monday, APA reports citing Xinhua.

"Such an illegal occupation and blockade could not be legally accepted" and Turkey will "continue to fight in the international arena to end the illegal occupation," Davutoglu told a joint press conference with visiting Palestinian envoy Nabil Shaath.

He said his meeting with Shaath mainly focused on the recognition of Palestine in the United Nations (UN) and the recent Turkish-Israeli relations.

Turkey decided to obtain a resolution from the UN General Assembly on Israel before going to the International Court of Justice, said Davutoglu.

"We are about to complete our preparations in order to begin the process at the UN," he said.
