2 killed, dozen injured in police station attack in Pakistan

Baku-APA. At least two people were killed and a dozen others injured when a suicide bomb attack hit a police station in northwest Pakistan on Thursday night, reported local Urdu TV channel Duniya, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

According to the local media reports, the attack took place at about 8:30 p.m. local time Thursday when a suicide car bomb hit a police station at a business center in Lakki Marwat, a district located some 180 kilometers southwest of Peshawar in northwest Pakistan.

Half of the police station building was leveled to ground in the attack, said local media reports, adding that two houses and 13 shops nearby were destroyed.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack yet.

This is the second major terrorist attack reported in Pakistan during the holiday of Eid, a festival celebrated by Muslims after one month of fast which officially ended on Aug. 31.
