1 killed, several injured as army helicopter crashes near Islamabad, Pakistan

Baku-APA. At least one officer was killed and several others were injured as a Pakistani army helicopter crashed Tuesday evening some 40 km northwest of the countryâ€™s capital Islamabad, reported local Urdu TV channel Samaa, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

According to the report, the disaster took place at about 06:20 p.m. local time when a Pakistani army chopper carrying an unknown number of people crashed during training near an air force base in Hari Pur, a city located between Islamabad and Abbottabad, a town where the worldâ€™s most wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden was killed in his compound early Monday morning.

This is the second army plane crash reported on Tuesday in Pakistan. Earlier Tuesday afternoon, a Mirage combat jet fighter of Pakistani Air Force crashed in the desert area in the Jhang district in Pakistanâ€™s eastern province of Punjab due to technical problem. The pilot of the plane survived in the incident.
