Baku-APA. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu put together his team Thursday for negotiations with the Palestinians in Washington next week, APA reports quoting Earth Times.

Netanyahu will nominally head the team and planned to conduct the talks with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Israeli media reported.

Chief negotiator is Itzhak Molcho, who has been responsible for contacts with the United States since 2009. The other members of the team are advisors Ron Dermer and Uzi Arad.

The news service ynet said a small team was the best way to achieve "speedy, thorough and serious negotiations."

The Palestinian side is being led by chief negotiator Saeb Erekat.

The talks are set to begin in the US capital on September 2.

In a statement announcing the meeting, the Mideast Quartet comprising the US, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations said the talks could be completed within a year.

But both the Israelis and Palestinians have expressed doubts whether this target date could be achieved.
