Baku-APA. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant meets high safety standards, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.
"Bushehr nuclear plant meets high safety standards and there are no environmental concerns about it," said Mehmanparast at his weekly press briefing.
Referring to the concerns raised by some neighboring countries of Iran, he said that there should be no concern by Iran’s neighboring states "due to high safety standards of the power plant."
On Monday, Kuwait foreign ministry undersecretary Khaled al- Jarallah expressed his country’s concerns over Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant saying that his country is very close to the plant and it fears the possible leaks from the plant.
The chief of country’s nuclear security system, Nasser Rastkhah, said Monday that "a tripartite committee comprising Iran’s nuclear security system, Russia’s nuclear security system and manager of the project has been formed to ensure security of Bushehr power plant."
After years of delay, Iran and Russia started on Saturday to load fuel rods to the reactor at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran.
