Kabul – APA. International coalition losses in Afghanistan passed 2 000, APA reports quoting Casualties.org. Since the war began nine years ago, 2002 military servicemen, including 1226 US and 331 British soldiers, as well as 445 military servicemen of other member countries of the international coalition have been killed in the military operations. 2009 was bloodiest year in the campaign in Afghanistan. 521 coalition soldiers were killed in Afghanistan last year and 434 were killed in the past eight months. US and other NATO countries have 140 000 troops in Afghanistan. According to the Obama administration’s plan, US will start withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan beginning in July, 2011. The coalition forces will complete handover of their authorities to the Afghan army and police in 2014.
