Baku – APA. Iran is planning to send a man into space in 2019, said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, APA reports quoting IRNA. The president said it would be serious response to the West, which was trying to prevent Iran’s nuclear programs. “The project was originally planned to take place in 2024, but it has been pushed forward by five years in response to the UN Security Council resolutions and threats. The project will be realized in 2019”.
Iran successfully test-fired the Kavoshgar-3 rocket, which carried a rat, turtle and worms in February, 2010. Earlier this month, Minister of Telecommunications Reza Taghipoir said the country intends to launch another satellite, Rasad 1, in the last week of August.
