Week of Iranian Cinema inaugurates in the Actors House

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“APA. The opening ceremony of the Week of Iranian Cinema was held in the Actors House of Baku on Friday. The Week of Iranian Cinema was organized by the Culture Center of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan Cinematograph Union, APA reports. Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan Naser Hamidi Zareh spoke about the importance of the Cinema Week in Baku. The ambassador said it was the fifth Week of Iranian Cinema in Baku and the event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. â€œSuch events contribute to the strengthening of cultural relations between the two countries. The culture is very deep and great sphere. Every country must hold such events to popularize its culture. Iranian people are independent and free for 30 years and it faced with many troubles to get this independence. The most important thing is that we never cringed before anyone for getting this freedomâ€.
Following the opening speech, The Color of Paradise by the Iranian film director Majid Majidi was shown. The Week of Iranian Cinema will last until February 12. Movies directed by the Iranian filmmakers will be shown within a week at the Azerbaijan Cinematograph Union and the Actorsâ€™ House.
