Roundtable â€œWays of natural dyeing of wool productsâ€ held in Baku

Roundtable â€œWays of natural dyeing of wool productsâ€ was held in the State Museum of Azerbaijani Carpets and Decorative Applied Arts named after Latif Karimov, APA reports. Carpet weaver living in Erdebil Zaminad Bakhshali also attended the roundtable. Bakhshali said he had tried for long years to find out all secrets of dyeing and apply them.
â€œI know the secrets of carpet technology existed in the reign of Safavids in the Middle Ages and apply this experience now. I am very glad that my carpets are exhibited in Great Britain, France and other countries,â€ he said.

Zaminad Bakhshali said Erdebil was one of the ancient centers of carpet weaving and dyeing. He said that dyeing of yarns was of great importance in carpet weaving and added that yarns were dyed with natural paints in Iran. Establishment of the laboratory for dying yarns under the State Museum of Azerbaijani Carpets and Decorative Applied Arts was also discussed during the roundtable.
