German director Veit Helmer’s Absurdistan is presented in Baku

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova–APA. Absurdistan, filmed by German director Veit Helmer in Lahic and Shaki regions of Azerbaijan was presented in Azerbaijan Cinema House in Baku on Thursday. Events described in the film happen in the mysterious village of Absurdistan located between Asia and Europe. The village has a water problem, but the main problems for the women in the village are lazy men, who can’t repair the water pipes. It is a love story between two teenagers Aya (Christina Malerova) and Temelko (Maximilian Mauff). Addressing the presentation ceremony Veit helmer said he chose Lahic and Shaki among different places of more than ten countries as a film set. Representatives of 16 countries were involved in the film crew. Azerbaijani actors Nuraddin Guliyev, Kazim Abdullayev, Adalat Ziyadkhanov, Elkhan Guliyev, Hicran Nasirova, Firangiz Babayeva, Matanat Atakishiyeva, Rafig Azimov, Yelena Spitsina and others were also involved in the actors group. The film was run for the first time within Sundance Film Festival and was included in the contest program of Moscow International Film Festival in June. Absurdistan won the Bavarian State Film Award and German Film Prize for the best production. It will be shown in Baku, Lahic, Shaki, Mingachevir, Ganja and Lankaran within a week.
