International symposium on ceramics and sculpture planned to be held in Shaki postponed

The international symposium on ceramics and sculpture planned to be held in Shaki in August-September has been postponed, secretary of Azerbaijani Artists Union Anvar Garayev told APA. He said that as such a symposium is held in Azerbaijan for the first time they have to make serious arrangements for the event. Preparation for the symposium will be held on September 3-10. Anvar Garayev said that representatives from Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Bosnia and Turkmenistan will participate in the preparatory events. The secretary said that the representatives will arrive in Baku late this month and the international symposium will be held in spring, 2008.
“We will make arrangements this year. We will determine the program of the symposium along with foreign guests. We want everything to be on the highest level,” he said.
Masters of ceramics and sculpture will prepare various works within 21 days during the symposium. The works will be presented to Shaki as a gift.
“The symposium is planned to be held every two years. Representatives from five countries will participate in the symposium so far. The list will later be enlarged. Ceramics and sculpture museum will be established in Shaki. If we like the first works, we will start collecting exhibits from this year,” he said. /APA/
