A joint production agreement between the United States and Ukraine for missiles for the Patriot air defense systems is unlikely to be signed before this winter, US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker told in an interview with Fox Business.
Whitaker said it is unlikely that Ukraine will be authorized to produce PAC-3 missiles, whose exports are subject to strict US controls. However, he noted that the United States is considering opportunities for joint production with Ukraine.
"We are working on some of these agreements. There is nothing to announce at the moment. It does not appear feasible to finalize long-term production agreements before this winter. Therefore, we will continue this work," he said.
