U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that significant import tariffs will soon be imposed on products of semiconductor and microchip manufacturers that lack production capacity within the country, APA reports citing CNBC.
“We will impose tariffs on companies that do not operate within U.S. territory, and this will happen quite soon. While these tariffs will not be extremely high, they will still be significant. It should be understood that if semiconductor and microchip manufacturers enter the country, build factories, or plan to come to the U.S., no tariffs will be applied to them,” Trump emphasized.
