US President Donald Trump said Elon Musk has "no choice" but to return to the Republican Party (GOP), during an interview on The Scott Jennings Show on Wednesday. Trump dismissed the idea of Musk aligning with Democrats, calling them "radical left lunatics", APA reports.
The president described Musk as a man of "common sense" who temporarily "went off the reservation," but argued the Tesla and SpaceX chief would ultimately realign with Republicans. He praised Musk's brilliance, saying he is "80% super genius" while acknowledging he has "some problems" to overcome.
When asked if he had been in touch with Musk, Trump avoided giving an answer but stressed that he still "likes him." Months ago, however, Trump and Musk broke ties after disagreements, despite having previously worked together.
