U.S. President Donald Trump has defended his tariff policies, claiming they have brought “trillions of dollars” into the country and boosted the U.S. stock market, general wealth, and overall economy, US President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, APA reports.
Trump stated that tariffs have not caused inflation or any other economic problems for the United States. Instead, he argued, they have resulted in “massive amounts of cash pouring into our Treasury’s coffers.”
According to Trump, consumers are largely unaffected by the tariffs, with the costs being borne “mostly by companies and governments, many of them foreign.”
Trump also took aim at Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, accusing him and the bank of making false predictions about the market impact of tariffs. “They were wrong, just like they are wrong about so much else,” Trump wrote.
He went on to mock Solomon, suggesting he “ought to just focus on being a DJ, and not bother running a major financial institution” if he cannot accurately assess economic policy impacts.
