The framework agreement concluded between Israel and Lebanon envisages the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon, stated in the document signed in Washington by U.S., Israeli, and Lebanese officials and published by the U.S. Department of State on June 26, APA reports.
The agreement notes that Israel and Lebanon intend to end the conflict and address its root causes.
Under the agreement, the parties undertake to work toward restoring effective sovereign control over all of Lebanon by the Lebanese Armed Forces, as well as disarming non-governmental groups in Lebanon and dismantling infrastructure associated with them.
The agreement states that this will enable the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.
