Baku-APA. An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale jolted Vanuatu, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The tremor occurred at 9:28 a.m. local time Saturday (2228 GMT Friday), with a depth of 207.9 km. The epicenter was located some 63 km south-southwest of Sola, Vanuatu, and 723 km north of We, New Caledonia, according to information released on the USGS website.
So far no tsunami warning has been issued.
