The agreement the U.S. is trying to conclude with Kyiv regarding mineral resources is not related to the settlement process of the conflict in Ukraine, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in his statement to Fox News, APA reports.
"This is a separate matter. This is not part of the ceasefire negotiations. It is also not part of any agreement that would stop this catastrophe," she said.
She also added that U.S. President Donald Trump hopes the agreement will be signed by the end of next week.
