President Donald Trump has revoked Secret Service protection for former Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a letter obtained by CNN, APA reports, citing Newsweek.
The directive, dated Thursday and titled "Memorandum for the Secretary of Homeland Security," instructs the agency to discontinue all security procedures beyond those required by law, effective September 1.
The move nullifies an extension quietly authorized by President Joe Biden before leaving office, which had granted Harris an additional year of protection beyond the standard six-month post-tenure period. Harris is set to begin a high-profile book tour later this month, prompting concern among aides and California officials over her safety.
