U.S. President Donald Trump does not intend to provide Ukraine with missiles for Patriot air defense systems due to declining U.S. ammunition stockpiles, the Financial Times reports.
According to the publication, although the U.S. administration continues to discuss Ukraine's request regarding the production of Patriot missiles, Trump opposes sending existing missiles to Kyiv, citing limited stockpiles and the United States' own defense needs.
The Financial Times notes that U.S. stockpiles of Patriot missiles have declined significantly in recent months, including due to their use during the conflict with Iran. This has heightened concerns in Washington about the country's own military readiness.
