US heat caused 64 deaths

Baku – APA. Abnormal heat caused 64 deaths in the central and southern parts of the United States. According to APA, 15 people died in Philadelphia, 17 in Kansas City, 15 in Chicago. Most of the heat victims are elders, but in Brooklyn, New York, 10-year-old girl died of heat stroke. On Wednesday a portion of the Central U.S., Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois, remain under excessive heat warnings. Most of the fatalities came from that region. Livestock has also been greatly affected by the heat wave. A poll of Iowa Cattlemen’s Association members indicates as many as 4,000 cattle died in Iowa.
