Clinton meets Algerian foreign minister on counterterrorism cooperation

Baku-APA. U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton on Tuesday met with Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci in Washington on counterterrorism cooperation between the two countries, the State Department said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Clinton said in the remarks ahead of their meeting that Medelci is here on behalf of a "very important" bilateral relationship, according to a statement released by the State Department.

"We are very grateful for the excellent cooperation that we receive on counterterrorism and security issues, as well as a growing list of bilateral matters that are of significance," she told reporters.

Medelci said the two countries’ relations will "be developing even more" in terms of the cooperations on counterterrorism and the development of Algeria.
