Baku-APA. Sudanese President Omar al- Bashir on Friday hailed the agreement recently signed between Sudan and South Sudan, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"The agreement will mark the end for the tensions which followed the separation of South Sudan and pave the way for fraternal ties between the two countries," said al-Bashir upon his arrival at Khartoum airport from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where the deal was inked.
"The agreement covered all the outstanding issues and set mechanisms to ensure its implementation," he added.
He said the coming days would witness complete seriousness of the two parties to end the outstanding issues between them.
Sudan and South Sudan on Thursday signed three agreements of various issues at the conclusion of presidential summit between al- Bashir and his South Sudanese counterpart Salva Kiir Mayardit in Addis Ababa.
The two presidents have been meeting in Addis Ababa since last Sunday to conclude the negotiations by their delegations going on for months on outstanding issues through the mediation of the African Union High Implementation Panel.
Sudan and South Sudan have been negotiating in Addis Ababa over many outstanding issues including oil sharing, border demarcation and affiliation of the disputed oil-rich area of Abyei.
