When young people become not just beneficiaries of urban policies but architects of urban transformation, they approach these processes with a sense of ownership, Ramil Iskandarli, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum, said during the event titled “Youth and Civil Society Leadership in the Development of Sustainable and Inclusive Cities” held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, APA reports.
According to him, one common conclusion clearly emerges: when young people and civil society organizations are empowered, cities become more sustainable and more people-oriented.
Ramil Iskandarli also noted that the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum firmly believes in the importance of international civil society cooperation.
“Through our partnerships and participation in global cooperation initiatives, including within the broader framework of Global South cooperation, we continue to support platforms that enable the open and constructive exchange of experiences, ideas and practical solutions,” Ramil Iskandarli noted.
