Azerbaijan remains committed to contributing to efforts aimed at shaping a climate-resilient urban future, as well as strengthening dialogue and cooperation, Presidential Representative on Climate Issues Mukhtar Babayev said during the event titled “Early Warnings and Sustainable Cities” held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, APA reports.
He noted that early warning systems are not measured only by numbers, but save human lives: “Despite significant progress at the global level, a number of challenges still remain. These include limited financial and institutional capacities, information gaps, and communication barriers. Solving these problems requires cooperation among governments, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector.
No country can build resilience alone. No city can adapt alone. Partnerships, science, technology, and international cooperation will play a decisive role in shaping a climate-resilient urban future.”
