Since 2018, we have rebuilt our spatial planning system, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev said during the High-Level Urban Dialogue of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, APA reports.
He noted that 65% of the country’s cities are already being managed under 20-year master plans.
“The approval process is ongoing for 10 out of 79 cities. Detailed planning has been carried out for 2,230 settlements. The Baku Master Plan 2040 envisages a polycentric, human-centered and environmentally responsible development model. Within this framework, housing, workplaces, services and public spaces are being brought closer together. In housing policy, we approach housing not as a commodity, but as the foundation of social stability and inclusive development,” he said.
