Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. Pharmaceutical companies in Azerbaijan have appealed to the government over foreign currency problems, the country’s Deputy Health Minister Elsavar Aghayev told reporters on Thursday.
Aghayev noted that everyone is concerned by possible shortage of medicines as a consequence of the problems with currency.
“Pharmaceutical companies have appealed to Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov. The same appealed has been sent to the Health Ministry, too,” he said.
The Ministry of Economy is extremely concerned by this issue, which discussed with the Tariff Council yesterday, according to Aghayev.
“Many of pharmaceutical companies as well as people appeal to the Health Ministry about possible shortage of medicines. This problem seems to be going to be solved as the Ministry of Economy has raised the issue before the government and the Central Bankm,” he said.
The main problem is that the currency sells at more than 4 percent—the fixed margin, the deputy minister stressed.
“Therefore, companies are having trouble doing their work. Companies too are interested to make some profit of their medicines. This issue will be solved without fail,” he said.
