Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Interesting facts have been revealed about Javid Orujov who together with his family applied for asylum in Armenia.

According to APA’s investigations, J. Orujov was born in 1976 in Baku and registered in building 1, apartment 5, block 4085, Sabunchu, Bakikhanov, Baku. His wife Mirzeyeva (Aliyeva) Roya Rauf was born in 1983, Baku.

Orujov’s father was born in 1945, Shusha and worked as a teacher at the secondary school and died in 2008.

His mother Orujova Mirvari Asadulla was born in 1947, Baku and lives in the capital and is working as Deputy Head of Special Boarding School No.11 in Baku.

Orujov’s brother Jeyhun Orujov is working as a technician for Public TV. He has strained relations with his brother.

According to APA’s investigation, purpose of the visit of Orujov and his family is to renounce Azerbaijani citizenship and find asylum in a third country through Armenia.

According to Armenian media reports, Orujov was exerted pressure by Azerbaijani law-enforcement agencies as his wife has Armenian origin. According to official statistics, today, about 30,000 citizens of Armenian origin live in Azerbaijan. However, there is no fact that they are exerted pressure.

Orujov’s mother Mirvari Orujova told APA that her son Javid married Baku citizen Aida Tagizade in 2008, but they got divorced a year later due to family conflict. It’s known that Tagizadeh was married before this marriage: “Thereafter, Javid familiarized with Baku citizen Roya Mirzeyeva on social network and married her. They had three children. Roya Mirzeyeva was also married formerly”.

M. Orujova also noted that R. Mirzeyeva’s father is composer Rauf Aliyev from Shusha and mother is Aliyeva Alia Davudovna: “Javid’s mother-in-law Alia Aliyeva’s father Davud Mirzoyan is an Armanian from Karabakh region and died. Mother is a Polish Jew”.

According to Orujova, Jadic worked at private security service for three months, and then lost her job. Javid also wished to live abroad. According to her, Javid lived in Russia in 2001-2003, but returned:”He left for Russia with his wife and child in 2010 again. Thereafter, he left for Norway. However, he came back to Azerbaijan in September, 2013. He said he could not get permanent residence status in Norway, but could receive benefit without working. Their two children were born in Norway and they were named Norman Broyn and Samel Broyn in honor of the lawyer”.

She characterized her son J. Orujov as a person inclined to parasitic lifestyle and he was always provided with financial aid: “His familiar advised him to leave for Norway. After returning from Norway, though Javid applied to German and Israeli embassies to live abroad, he could not get consent”.

Orujova assumes that Orujov was advised by these embassies or his friends about applying to Armenia as his wife has mixed Armenian/Azeri origin and getting permanent residence in the third country through this method.

Orujova strongly condemned his son’s passage to the hostile country with his family, described him as a person who wants to generate revenue in an easy way and didn’t rule out the existence of external influence on his son.

The investigation revealed that the claims that Orujov was exerted pressures in Azerbaijan due to the fact that his wife is allegedly an Armenian don’t reflect the reality. It is no secret that in recent years, our several citizens have taken advantage of some factors such as “Armenian origin”, “sexual minority” and others. It seems more realistic that Javid wanted to use these factors.

On January 29, Azerbaijani citizen, 37-year-old Javid Orujov with his wife and three children appealed to Armenia to receive an asylum. The family explained they took this step because of the persecutions in Azerbaijan. The persecutions started after he got married with Baku resident, 31-year-old Roya Mirzayeva, who is allegedly Armenian. According to Armenian media outlets that Orujov’s appeal to receive an asylum in European countries failed. The Azerbaijani side has not commented on this issue.

The UN Office in Armenia and the Migration Service of Armenia are dealing with this issue.
