APA reports quoting to the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that officials and representatives of the government agencies on management of emergency situations of ECO Member States namely Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Turkey and Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the UN, UNDP, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, German Federal Agency for Technical Relief, German Society for International Cooperation, Japan International Cooperation Agency, Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, Asian Disaster Reduction Center, ECO Regional Center for Risk Management of Natural Disasters, Free University of Berlin, Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences, International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology, German Red Cross and Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society are also expected to attend the conference.
The event is aimed at deepening the cooperation on civil defense, protection of population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies, their prevention and elimination of their results among relevant agencies of the member states and international organizations closely cooperating with the ECO.
