Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The delay in the adoption of the law “On reproductive health” was due to the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), Ahliman Amiraslanov, the chairman of Azerbaijan’s parliamentary Committee on Health, said addressing the event on “The role of traditions in family formation”.
To this effect, the Committee is holding meetings with the CMO and the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Amiraslanov said. “They tell us that the essence of the problem hasn’t been fully explained to them. Now, as a result of our meetings they admit that issues envisaged in the draft law are not contrary to Islam,” he added.
The State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations and CMO chairman Allahshukur Pashazade have already agreed on the adoption of the drat law, Amiraslanov noted.
The committee chairman said that the problem was related to the extracorporeal insemination in the law.
“However, there is no serious problem here. How can it be possible that extracorporeal insemination is carried out in Saudi Arabia, Iran, but not Azerbaijan? Therefore, I do not see any problem here,” he stressed.
