Baku hosts inauguration of new building of Center for Development of Teachers

Baku-APA. Today the opening ceremony of the new building of the Center for Development of Teachers, established by the European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) was held in Baku.

Speaking at the ceremony, the founder and head of the European Azerbaijan Society Tale Heydarov said that the Center of Teachers was created to contribute to the successful implementation of the State Education Development Strategy of Azerbaijan, approved by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports quoting TEAS.

He stressed that the support to the development of education is one of the strategic directions of the European Azerbaijan Society. In 2011, the Society founded The European Azerbaijan School meeting leading global educational standards.

Heydarov also spoke about the special importance given to training of teachers as a continuation of the projects in the educational sphere. To this end, a new model for teacher training in the CIS – the Teachers Development Center was established. The center was licensed by the state as an additional education center. International level specialists were involved and new programs for training of teachers were started at the center.

Director of the Center for Development of Teachers expressed confidence that the center would fulfill its mission with honor. He also noted that on November 17, an international conference dedicated to improving the quality of education will be opened with the support of the Center for Development of Teachers. More than 600 people are registered to participate at the conference that would last two days. He noted that well-known experts in the field of education as well as Bill Martin (USA) and Debra Masters (New Zealand) would have speeches at the event.

Deputy Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis Bakhtiyar Aliyev stressed the support to the Center for the successful implementation of reforms in the sphere of education in the country.
