Baku. Etibar Mammadov – APA. Baku Court of Appeal on Tuesday held a hearing on the appeal of former MP Gular Ahmadova.
According to the judgment her appeal was partially upheld, and she was allowed to leave the country for 3 months.
Following the hearing, Ahmadova told reporters that she is not satisfied with the decision.
“It is difficult to obtain a visa within 3 months. This period wouldn’t be enough for me. I have serious health problems,” she said.
Ahmadova appealed the court to remove the restriction on her leaving the country to undergo surgery operation for 8 months. Yasamal District Court rejected the appeal. Being dissatisfied, Ahmedova field an appeal against the decision.
Ahmadova faced charges under article 178.3.2 (acquisition of another property by abusing of trust) and 307.2(not informing about known preparing or committed minor serious or serious crimes) of the Criminal Code. Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Gular Ahmadova to 3-year imprisonment. Then Baku Court of Appeal sentenced Gular Ahmadova to conditional imprisonment for a term of 3 years.
