A total of 70,000 police officers and gendarmes will be mobilized to ensure security during protests scheduled to take place in France on November 5, French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said, APA reports.
The minister noted that the same number of law enforcement officers as on October 31 would be involved in ensuring security.
According to him, in addition to police and gendarmerie forces, special units, canine service officers, and mounted police will also be on duty.
"Our main task is to ensure that demonstrations take place peacefully. If there are attempts at illegal actions, the response will be extremely tough. We will not tolerate any riots, and those who violate the law will be detained," the minister emphasized.
