Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. Azerbaijan is defining new conditions for abandonment by parents and other legal representatives of the guardianship of minors for valid reasons.
A draft amendment proposed on the recommendation of Azerbaijan’s president to the Law “On prevention of abandonment and legal violations of minors” was discussed Thursday at the meeting of the parliamentary Committee for family, women and children affairs.
According to the amendment, valid reasons for parents and other legal representatives’ not fulfilling their responsibilities for upbringing, education and care of minors include their being placed in stationary medical institutions, having terminal illness, being sent to long-term business trips, being sentenced to pre-trial detention, administrative arrest and other conditions couldn’t be eliminated by them.
The draft amendment was recommended to the parliament’s plenary session.
