Chinese government announces scholarship program for Azerbaijani students

Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. According to the bilateral cooperation agreement signed between the Azerbaijani and Chinese Education Ministries, Chinese government has announced a scholarship program for Azerbaijani students for 2014-2015 academic years.

Education Ministry told APA that the program allows students from both countries to study the specialty they want at the universities of the two countries basing on student exchange. 26 Azerbaijani citizens are currently studying business, economics, tourism, medicine and other specialties at the Chinese universities. Those awarded with scholarships should attend the Chinese language course for a year.

Azerbaijani citizens who wish to participate in the competition should send scanned copies of the required documents to [email protected] by March 27. They will be interviewed individually. The interview will be held at the Education Ministry on April 2-4.

The scholarship includes tuition fee, expenses of university enrollment, laboratory, internship, hostel and monthly living, costs of teaching materials. The Chinese government pays for tickets from Beijing to the university. Azerbaijani Ministry of Education pays for ticket (round-trip ticket) only once during each academic year.

According to the rules of “Education programs in China 2014 – under Chinese Government Scholarship”, age limit for applicants of bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees have been determined as 25, 35 and 40 correspondingly.
