Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. A special commission, created to investigate the fact of death recorded at Sumgayit City Emergency Hospital, has announced its conclusion, the Health Ministry told APA.
According to the conclusion of the commission, as the patient was in serious condition, the operation was decided upon. Some problems occurred during the operation and bleeding started. Physicians tried to stop the bleeding, but they were unsuccessful.
81-year old physician Jafar Guliyev was dismissed and chief physician Rauf Sadigov was reprimanded in accordance with the opinion.
35-year old Veyisova Lumu was taken to the Sumgayit City Emergency Hospital on June 26. “Since the patient diagnosed with gallbladder decay, the surgeon performed an emergency operation, fearing that the gallbladder may rupture. When the patient was brought to the hospital, her bile duct crammed and her abdominal cavity was in bad situation. During the operation, the patient’s gall bladder was removed. Then the gallbladder bed started bleeding. Despite all the efforts, the patient, who stayed in the hospital for 3 days, died on June 29,” said the Health Ministry official.
The deceased’s relatives blame the surgeon for the death, claiming that as the doctor was old, his hands trembled and he cut the patient’s artery, resulting in bleeding.
