FAO proudly supports Azerbaijan, said Viorel Gutu, Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Assistant Director-General, on the third day of the event held within the framework of the "Baku Climate Action Week", APA reports.
"FAO will continue to act as a stable partner in implementing Azerbaijan's climate vision. We need to build a climate-resilient agricultural system. Digitalization of the agricultural system, prevention of water losses, food waste management, afforestation, ensuring food security and other issues are very important in this regard. Reducing losses and gaps in the supply chain not only helps more people to eat normally, but also reduces greenhouse gas emissions and relieves pressure on land and water resources," Viorel Gutu said.
