Failure to report signs of violence detected in children will result in fines, APA reports.
This is reflected in the new Articles 189-4 and 189-5 added to the Code of Administrative Offenses approved by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
Under Article 189-4, parents (or persons replacing them), as well as employees of educational, medical, social service, sports, cultural, recreational, and penitentiary institutions responsible for supervising children, who fail to report signs of violent acts against a child to the relevant law enforcement authorities or the local commission for the protection of children’s rights, will be fined from 200 to 300 manats for individuals and from 400 to 600 manats for officials.
According to Article 189-5, failure to prevent violence against children, including persistent pressure and aggressive behavior among children, in educational, medical, social service, sports, cultural, recreational, and penitentiary institutions will result in fines ranging from 300 to 400 manats for individuals and from 500 to 600 manats for officials.
After discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted on the third reading.
